We want all members of our community to be able to participate in our programs, and we provide scholarships to as many students as possible. Full and partial scholarships are available with preference to Newton residents and students of Newton Public Schools. How Can I Apply? Families or adult students should complete a scholarship application form online, including submitting income verification documentation. Applicants may email, mail, or bring in their forms to the Newton Community Education office inside Newton North High School: 457 Walnut Street Room 101 Newtonville, MA 02460 How are financial assistance amounts determined? Scholarships are awarded by the NCE Scholarship Committee using the Newton Community Development Income Guidelines. Consideration will be given to extenuating circumstances such as high medical bills or college tuition. We also work closely with Newton Public Schools, City, and community-based organization staff who recommend students and families in need of financial assistance. Priority will be given to Newton residents and Newton Public Schools students who meet the submission deadline for that session. Scholarships will then be awarded on a rolling basis to Newton residents and NPS students. Applicants who do not attend NPS or who live outside Newton are still eligible, but receive the lowest priority. The deadlines for each session are… Winter classes: January 15th Spring classes: March 15th Summer classes/camps: Open/rolling applications Fall classes: September 15th
